Traveling in Laos, a land of natural beauty and lush jungles, is a bargain compared to other countries.
But the cost of staying here can be staggering.
In addition to a hefty $20,000 fee for airfare, $3,500 for a hotel room and $7,000 for accommodation, travellers in Laos can expect to pay at least $2,500 in tolls to get around.
The country also has a heavy price tag on air travel, with travellers spending between $50 and $100 to get from one point to another.
We asked some travellers why they chose Laos as a destination and what they would pay if they were stranded in the country.
