The Philadelphia Flyers will play the Nashville Predators on April 1, 2018.
The Flyers will be playing for their first Stanley Cup Championship since 2002.
The Flyers will look to rebound from a 0-3 start in the 2018 Stanley Cup Playoffs and make a push for the NHL’s Presidents’ Trophy.
While they have not won a playoff series since 2010, the Flyers are in the midst of a rebuilding project that has put the team in a difficult position.
Despite being the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference, the Philadelphia Flyers have not advanced past the second round of the playoffs since 2008.
There is no doubt the Flyers can improve this year and it’s a major concern for the organization.
However, the team has not played in a regular-season game since the start of the 2018-19 season.
“I think this is an opportunity to get back to a normal schedule,” Flyers forward Travis Konecny said.
“We’re going to have a few games where we can play our game and try to be a playoff team.”
After losing to the Philadelphia Capitals in Game 3 of the Eastern Semifinals, the Ducks defeated the New York Islanders 2-1 in Game 6 to advance to the Western Conference Final.
Konecys goals in Game 4 were the first three goals scored by a Flyers player in a playoff game since 2012.
He scored the first goal of the game to tie the game at 2-2 and the second goal to give the Flyers a 2-0 lead.
After taking a 2 0 lead in the third period, the Oilers tied it up 2-all when Michael Del Zotto scored his fourth goal of his career with 2:11 remaining.
He would score the next two goals of the period to give Edmonton a 3-2 lead.
With a 3 2 victory, the Anaheim Ducks advance to face the Pittsburgh Penguins in Game 7 on Friday night at 7 p.m.
The Flyers have been eliminated from the postseason.
Philadelphia will have to face three teams in the first round of next season’s playoffs, including the Pittsburgh Pirates, who are tied for second in the Metropolitan Division and have a three-game lead over the Flyers for the best record in the Atlantic Division.
The Philadelphia Flyers are 0-5-2 in their past nine playoff games.
On Saturday, the Edmonton Oilers defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning 3-0 in Game 2 of the Western Semi-Final.
The Oilers would have a 3 1 lead if it wasn’t for a late goal by Connor McDavid.
Tampa Bay would win Game 3 to advance, 3-1, to the next round, which is now scheduled for June 24-26.
With a 5-4 win in Game 5, the San Jose Sharks defeated the Colorado Avalanche 3-3 in Game 1 of the Quarterfinal.
The Sharks would have the lead in regulation and overtime if it weren’t for an Adam Clendening goal with 2 minutes remaining.
The game would have been tied up 2 2-on-2 had the Sharks not scored a goal in the extra period.
San Jose would advance to Game 6, 1-1.
The Philadelphia Eagles won their third Stanley Cup Final in six seasons on Sunday.
Philadelphia would win in seven games and would advance in the Western Division.
