(September 2, 2012) – Today, September 2, 2012 is independence day in Vietnam. It was on this day in 1945 that president Ho Chi Minh read his Declaration of Independence in Ba Dinh square in Hanoi. The speech (this link will bring you to a translated version in English), included here, began with, “All men are created equal. They are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights, among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness”.
